Data Recovery with KNOPPIX, RAID, LVM

Recently I had a power failure last 3 seconds past the life of my UPS and now my most crucial server will no longer POST. Naturally.
Luckily I had all data backed up to another server (which still powers on) but what if this wasn't the case? Is the data gone forever?
Of course not. It's just a little more complicated since the data consisted of a RAID 5 with 3 SATA drives and LVM on top of that. How'd I get my data back? A little help from KNOPPIX, mdadm, modprobe, and LVM utilities.
